DESCRIPTION:Start the year with a focus on creating a risk-based program that will benefit both adults and children!\n  \nDeveloping a risk-based program for young children. \nFor many of us\, playing outside\, usually in nature with NO adults in sight and taking risks was an everyday part of childhood. However\, what we took for granted as children\, has changed so dramatically that we now have children spending more time indoors than any other time in history due to rapid urbanisation\, increased screen-time and a growing culture of risk aversion. \nThis 2 hour evening workshop is suitable for educators\, service leaders\, teachers and principals working with children 3-5 years of age. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to explore: \n\nwhy young children need to take risks\nhow to support risk taking with young children in Long Day Care\, Family Day Care\, school or home environments\nadventurous activities for young children\nadult’s role and responsibilities\ndeveloping a benefit risk assessment\nstrategies for bringing families\, managers and educators on board\nadvocating the importance of risk taking\n\nThe session is designed to be adaptable for all early childhood settings and contexts. \n  \nFacilitator: Scott Gibson \nCost for this session: $60 (cost with GST & Eventbrite booking fee $69.73) \nEventbrite Registration\nIf you would like to contact our consultant: scott.gibson@gowrie-tas.com.au (03) 62306841 \n
