How to: Developing a Benefit Risk Assessment (Launceston)
September 23 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Are you interested in or already providing children with risky play experiences in your work setting?
Are you unsure about the most effective process to ensure children are protected from harm and hazard?
From discussions across the state and beyond, many individuals and organisations are experiencing difficulty in this area and are unclear about the type and depth of information required to carry out an effective benefit risk assessment.
The benefit risk assessment is a crucial document when providing risk-based experiences for children within your program. This document not only supports the children’s safety and well-being but also supports your organisation’s effective management of risky play.
This workshop will focus on the how’s and why’s of developing a benefit risk assessment. Participants will be guided step-by-step through the process before taking part in developing benefit risk assessments themselves that link to their current programs.
You will come away with a clearer understanding of:
– why you need a benefit risk assessment
– when a benefit risk assessment is required
– how to develop an effective benefit risk assessment that is clear, easy to follow and supports risky play.
